What do we wear?

Post by nypain »

I’m a newbie here - working onsite in the medical field in NYC. I have had serious issues with uncontrollable arousal in April, although looking back my symptoms slowly started in 2018. My GYN referred me to pelvic floor PT, which I started in June, and had somewhat started helping until last week, when I developed uncontrollable nerve spasms in the vulva, thighs, lower abdomen and piriformis muscle.

I have an appointment with a pelvic pain specialist in August, I am wondering if it would be worth doing a telephone visit beforehand as the spasms really interfere with my ability to sleep. Naproxen and tizanidine take the edge off slightly, as does using a heating pad (during a hot and humid July…) and at this point I’m open to trying other medications. I use a theraseat at work which helps take the edge off but a toilet seat or standing are still better. My physical therapist said I have internal muscular tightness and recommended dilators; is this ok for PN?

I’m also a little afraid of what will happen if I’m not better by the fall - I am currently wearing loose dresses and shorts as tight pants and underwear are beyond uncomfortable. Harem leggings and skirts?

I previously suffered from occipital neuralgia and experienced long term relief from a single steroid injection. Is there ANY chance that happens?
