what did you pay for 100 units of Botox?

Hi,

My urogynecologist planning to do bilateral PN blocks under anesthesia AND 100 units Botox just to the left coccygeus muscle. Botox recommendation to just this muscle after 3 mos. of pelvic floor therapy with that muscle the most painful --- rectal sitting pain, constipation, tailbone etc.

The PN blocks and anesthesia are covered by insurance. (BC/BC)

The botox not covered - tried w/appeal. Denied. She appealed with literature. Denied.

So, hospital tells me my cost for JUST THE 100 UNITS OF BOTOX. Just the medication itself - everything else is covered -- will be $3,000. The hospital charges $1,500 per 50 units botox.

I was shocked. $3,000 for 100 units Botox?

What do you think? What have you paid just for the botox medication?

I paid $457CAD for 100 units of botox, which in USD is something like $340.
