OI muscle

Post by jaxi123 »

What have you been able to do for the OI muscle to get it to come out of a spasm on your non surgical hip?

I have the exact same question! It doesn’t want to calm down!

I used a TENS unit but it didn't help until the nerve pain started to subside a bit after PNE release surgery.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Jaxi,

Have you tried Botox into the muscle to see if that helps?
PN started 2004 from fall. Surgery with Filler Nov. 2006, Dr. Campbell April 2007. Pain decreased by 85% in 2008 (rectal and sitting pain resolved completely), pain returned in 12/13. Pain reduced significantly beginning around 11/23.

Jaxi,

I don't know if you have any limitations from surgery but hip flexor and hip opening stretches seem to have helped me. I can't really explain why, maybe they loosen the obturator internus muscle? Botox into my pelvic muscles didn't help me either. I don't know when you last had Botox, but I have heard that in recent years the doctors inject a lot more into each muscle than years ago. I haven't had it since 2006 and if i worsen again, I will consider trying it as I have been in touch with at least one person who didn't have success years ago with it but has had recent success.

I am sorry Botox made you worse. I know you have been through so much with this condition.
