Earlier today I had a doctor suggest that I try Botox injections instead of surgery... and I cannot find literally a single instance on this forum of someone saying that Botox worked for them. All I'm seeing is one post after another saying that Botox did nothing, or caused more pain.
Has ANYONE had success from Botox injections?
Has ANYONE had success from Botox injections?
Re: Has ANYONE had success from Botox injections?
I’ve had countless Botox injections before and after surgery not one of them did a thing for me
Re: Has ANYONE had success from Botox injections?
My doctor told me not to do them because they only give temporary relief so I didn't try them.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
Re: Has ANYONE had success from Botox injections?
I have not. It definitely didn't make it worse though. Maybe SLIGHTLY better? But yes overall I regret thee expense of getting them, but they are useful for surgeons to rule out your muscles being the root cause. I actually have to get a botox injection in my piriformis as the final thing to rule out before Dr. Bollens will perform surgery on me.
Re: Has ANYONE had success from Botox injections?
Botox after 1 month and half made me much worse....i regret the procedure.Hibner did it in Poland.Botox and / or pudendal steroid block made me clearly worse

Please take care with Bollens.I don t have a good opinion about him.He is rushing surgery super fast.I talked with him few years ago.On youtube he deletes incomode questions about his procedures etc....i know cause i asked sometompster wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 3:09 am I have not. Re: Has ANYONE had success from Botox injections?
Hi,
I have been suffering from pudendal neuralgia for 15 years.
For 12 years I was pretty well after TG ( i had the nerve blocked between SP and ST ligaments as per mri done with Dr.Potter ).
For six months I have had a severe myofascial syndrome in the piriformis and obturator muscles treated with 100 units of Botox every three months.
Botox is having little effect, perhaps because the quantity is low, in Italy i can have only 100 units every 3 months.
Do you think the amount of botox I'm getting is too low?
Best to all

Hi Elton,
Welcome to the forum. So sorry to hear about your recent pain. I don't have any firsthand experience with botox, so I don't know anything about the doses. But I have seen several posts on here from people who didn't think it helped and even some who worried that it made them worse. Is the dose you were given the standard dose? If it hasn't been working, I'd probably be reluctant to increase the dose. You said you're did pretty well after TG---I assume you mean transgluteal decompression surgery? So, did the pain just come back?
