I'm sorry Sunil :(

With my neurontin brain, I never tell anyone I am praying for them unless I say a prayer right then and there, because I forget so many things. So I just wrote "Sun" on my hand in permanent ink; now I will remember to keep praying for you until I have washed my hands many, many times. So when you come back and read this you will know you are still covered in prayer!

Primarily my prayer for you is that God will show you how to have peace of mind. I have found this in my own life to be even more precious than physical healing.
pelvic pain started 1985 age 14 interstitial cystitis. Refused medical care from age 17, did GREAT with self care for years.
2004 PN started gradually, disabled by 2009. Underlying cause SIJD & Tarlov cysts
improved with PT & meds: neurontin, valium, nortriptyline, propanolol. (off nortriptyline & propanolol now, yay!)
Tarlov cyst surgery with Dr. Frank Feigenbaum March 20, 2012.
Results have been excellent so far; but I won't know my final functional level for a couple of years.

You can only have peace with God who will never reject you; man will let you down sooner or later.

About your body changes: Just to let you know, because of SIJD I had a much longer right leg and put most of my weight on that side, and have a strong inflexible right side and a weak flexible left side. I was PM'ing someone on this board several months ago, about how I had no musculoskeletal pain through all the years of pelvic pain, but now that my body had to adapt to "normal", I got out of bed with aches and pains feeling like an old lady every day. Not sure of the time frame but I am thinking this was a good 6 - 9 months after the SIJD was corrected. Well now I am 14 months out, and I was emailing somebody else on this same subject, and suddenly realized that my body has finally adapted to normal and I have no more aches and pains. I don't remember when it stopped, it must have been gradual and I wasn't really thinking about it. But I suddenly realized, it has been quite a long time since I woke up feeling sore. I hope that helps you have some perspective on how long it takes to adapt. probably more than 6 months but less than a year, if my experiences were typical.

Thanks, Sunil, for your update. As I type, I sit on my lovely TheraPearls U shaped ice pack. Always remember, this is your community where you should and can feel safe. So whenever you need to vent, just let it all out. There are many others all over the world who are with you in suffering.

Have you checked out my blog? I try to expose the reality that this disease has caused in my life. I pray it is both eye-opening and a blessing to others.

God bless,

A's Mommy
