So sorry to hear of your ordeal. I can certainly relate - sounds just like my experience, where everything that is supposed to help just makes it worse.... I am also the thinnest I've been in my entire adult life. You would think all the laying around and lack of activity would lead to increased weight, but I don't have much appetite. I developed terrible stomach pains, too. My doctor thinks its a result of the other pain, that pain elsewhere causes increased acid and stomach pain. I read one person's blog who noticed that gluten made her pain worse, so I've been avoiding grains, especially wheat. I also think that sugar makes the pain worse.christi wrote:During this period I was in such pain that I lost 15 lbs. and was somewhat suicidal. I saw acupuncturists, chiropracterss, PTs. They all made me worse.
I haven't tried acupuncture for the PN pain. It's been recommended for me, but I'm reluctant to go... What happened when you tried it? Where were the needles placed? How much worse did it make you? How much confidence did you have in the practitioner? The acupuncturist I am considering is a neurologist and MD in China. She is not licenced to practice medicine in Canada, so she has a Chinese medicine clinic and does acupuncture. She's supposed to be really excellent.
