Do you have a room or basement you could rent out? Or a garage that you could rent for storage space? Could you pet sit or board dogs? Just thinking out loud here.
PNE as a result of childbirth, 2002. Treatment by the Houston team, with neurosurgery by Dr. Ansell in 2004. My left side ST and SS ligaments were found to be grown together, encasing the pudendal nerve.

I am cured. I hope you will be, too.

There are no medical answers on the forum. Your only hope is to go to a doctor. I was very happy with the Houston team, which has treated the most PNE patients (well over 400), more than any other US provider.

Hi Celeste,

None of those apply...

My husband and I are pretty resourceful people and have already discussed how to make some extra income in light of the pay cuts coming down the line...best option we have is really for him to take a part time second job, since he is well connected and could probably get one fairly easily. I can and do work a little, but we find it is more disruptive to our family life. Things work best around here, in terms of everybody's personality, when I am in charge of the kids and the household and he is the provider.
I also do think we can make some budget cuts.
We will be OK, always are ;) But thanks for caring :D
pelvic pain started 1985 age 14 interstitial cystitis. Refused medical care from age 17, did GREAT with self care for years.
2004 PN started gradually, disabled by 2009. Underlying cause SIJD & Tarlov cysts
improved with PT & meds: neurontin, valium, nortriptyline, propanolol. (off nortriptyline & propanolol now, yay!)
Tarlov cyst surgery with Dr. Frank Feigenbaum March 20, 2012.
Results have been excellent so far; but I won't know my final functional level for a couple of years.

Well, good news...My husband went to the Union meeting today and rumor has it that while the city is changing our insurance and is looking at bids, there is so much dickering around involved in making a decision that it should be a little longer before they finally get around to giving formal notice of the change. There's probably a long enough open enrollment period after the change is official, that I should at least be able to get my botox and phone consult in before I have to switch.
As far as Dr. Feigenbaum is concerned, they are still looking at United and some other plans as well, so whether he will be in-network and the surgery covered are totally up in the air. But I am relieved to have a little time anyhow. I called BCBS today and review of my botox appeal is in process, they will need to answer by June 10!

Great updates; I'm so glad you have some good Plan B as well as a bit of a reprieve for the calendar. Hoping for the best!!!!

Better news, I called the office of the Doc who is going to do the botox and was told they will be able to squeeze me in for treatment within a week or 2 after I get my insurance approval. So I can get it done in June! IF I win the first-round appeal. Maybe I'm overconfident about it, I just thing the appeal was very solid. If I don't win the first round, I probably won't make it up the chain of command in time...but I'll be surprised. I really like my appeal, can you tell? LOL

Based on everything you've told us HM, it sounds like you have a very good appeal and I sure hope that you win! If you do, you may have a second job with some free advertising here.
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

I'd probably get jailed for practicing law without a license or something. But I already promised that if I win my appeal I'll post it, that way it can be used as a template for free.
