At first sitting didn't bother me but as time went on it did.

Yes, the deep pain subsided fairly soon after PN surgery although it does come back mildly if I sit for long periods of time. Also the constant need to pee is mostly gone.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Well, there are different kinds of PT and I don't know what type you had but I noticed you mentioned kegals several times. Did your PT recommend kegals? If so, she does not understand how to treat people with PN. But even the right type of PT does not always help, especially if you have a nerve entrapment. What is your gyn suggesting next?

If you didn't have the right type of PT, maybe you want to try to get a referral to a different PT who can help you with a diagnosis.

You could try some nerve blocks to various nerves to see if you can isolate which nerve it is. Since you don't have pain with sitting, maybe it's a different nerve? Maybe you could get a 2nd opinion from another PT? Or the 3T Hollis Potter might give you some answers. Just brainstorming ideas here. You don't really want to live with a 3-7 pain level, for sure.

also i think its interesting u have had a similar deeper pain than me ive been on the ic boards and i cant find anyone that has a similar deeper pain ,i think if i have pn i probably have a more mild case since i dont hurt worse when sitting ,and can still maintain a decent quality of life within a certain pain leval 3-7 it being 4 most days .i do use ice packs to go every where i just use them like a pad ice is my main treatment since i hate the meds i use scull cap extract also i heard it helps nerves heal ,if this is another nerve hope the potter mri will show it and i can finally get proper treatment ! i could deal with a low pain leval if i had 2 but to think id be like this forever is not an option !!!

You're right, the pain eventually begins to wear on you and chronic pain can cause permanent changes in the brain and spinal cord. Ice is great -- lots of women freeze water balloons or condoms and insert them vaginally to numb that deep inner pain. It's a little more slushy and not as intense if you mix a little alcohol in before you freeze it.
