The Neurography center I went to had an MRI scanner that they used both for traditional MRI scans or for MRN Neurographies. They used different software and apparently coils according to the operator.
It was a 1.5T MRI/MRN.
But I am sure that they will find something. It could be ultimately simply an irritation of the pudendal nerve and muscles spasming. Whatever the findings are, please don't assume it means an entrapment and don't rush to invasive procedures.
You need to ask them about the cardiac stent.

My personal feeling is that symptoms, history, and clinical exam play a more important role in the diagnosis than the MRI or MRN although I agree with Dr. Marvel that it's important to have an MRI to rule out obvious nerve impingements or nerve root impingements such as tumors, etc. From the time I started reading the forums I read of people whose MRN showed no entrapment but they had surgery anyway and were found to be entrapped so I chose not to have an MRN. I can't say for sure if it would give you any valuable information but for me it wasn't necessary.

Hi Violet
I did have a normal mri of the pelvis/sacrum. I guess that would have detected any tumors or nerve root impingements due to bone fragments or tarlov cysts? I am seeing someone next week and will ask them more about the mrn.
Thank you Ezer for mentioning that they had a 1.5T machine where you had this; puts my mind more at ease about having one.

Solarmom, you might want to have them recheck the images for tarlov cysts simply because some doctors feel they are insignificant while others think they are. So you just want to be sure they were reported if you have them.
