Thankyou Kath! I've been chasing today, as it will be 7 weeks on Monday and 'urgent' usually means 6 weeks, and I haven't heard anything at all. I spoke to the general outpatients appointments clerk first, nothing has been sent out to me. She agreed that I should have heard by now, and suggested that I speak to Dr Greenslade's secretary so that she could chase up what's happened. I then discovered that Dr G's secretary was off sick - didn't hear that it had been for ages though! - and then managed eventually to get through to one of the other secretaries who said she would leave a note for whoever was covering for Dr G's secretary.

I shall chase again next week. Helen, I would suggest you chase too.

Calluna - They had a recorded message on his secretary's phoneline saying they didn't have a return date for her and not to leave a message as it was unlikely anyone would pick it up. That was 3-4 weeks ago and I got the impression she'd been off for a long time already. Keep chasing it!!!!

Today there was still a recorded message, saying she was off on sick leave and not to leave a message, and giving another number to ring, which was spoken so fast that I didn't get it written down. Oh dear. I wonder if my referral has even been sent? All I have is a copy letter sent by Dr G to my GP, saying that he had referred me urgently. Dictated 4 April, typed 16th April.

I shall indeed keep chasing.

I hope you get word soon Calluna. I'm sure you will as mine came TODAY! Got such a surprise as I was expecting to have to chase it next week.
I know that my GP practice here are still asking the PCT if my referral is in place and will it include the surgery. It happened back to front last time too but again I will just keep quiet and go, asking no questions.
The appontment is 29th June. I will have quite a few questions for Mr Web though, although my surgery will be piriformis release unless he is able to address the entrapment seen at Alcocks canal aswell. Role on 29th June. Off now to book my flight.
Take care all,
Helen

June 29 - that's only 5 weeks away! Excellent!

I don't think there is much point my hoping for an envelope in the post just yet, I spoke to the appointments clerk and there has not been anything sent out to me. Can't be much longer, though, surely. It is 7 weeks today. Ho hum...

only just read this, i really hope it all works out for you in a few weeks, let me know how you get on with it all, after doing some research i think this muscle could be the thing thats pressing on this pudendal nerve.as well as being hypermobile and having a hip that keeps locking out of place, i also have a collapsed arch on my left foot and walk on the inside of this foot which can also cause piriformis sydrome, good luck with it all, i really hope it helps you. mandy xx
