Need to lose 30lb

Here is a place for social chats with special attention to support and non medical discussions. We need a place to chill out, where we can distract from our pain and enjoy lighter moments, share a joke or funny moment with others.

Excellent plan HM, Then all others know just to avoid the two threads if they don't need to loose weight and we don't clutter up the forum.
Have always 'moped on' about being fat and how impossible it is to do anything about it so I am loving this enthusiasm too. The proof will be in the . . . . not even going to go there :) !

Hello Missy! Afternoon here, it has been threatening to rain all the time my husband was mowing the lawn this morning but now the sun is out, and I am going to take the dog for a walk in a minute. Walking is good, just not uphill...

Eating pretty much ok today I think. I hope I can stick to this! I really want to lose this weight, and I need to as well, if I am being honest.

Sounds like a great plan!! Lifestyle changes here I come. Bye Bye 60 lbs!!! 8-)
Have been dealing with burning pain since Jan 2010.
No sitting since April 2010.
Seen the following dr's: DO, GYN, Dermatologist, Accupuncturist,
URO GYN (his RN is the one who suggested the pain could be PN), Neurologist
Had ECG and MRI both inconclusive, only the SSEP said Pudendal reaction was abnormal and they lost that test result.
Saw Dr. Castellanos April 6, 2011. Next steps, MRI and botox. Having PT while waiting.-Botox denied, appealing to Insurance company now. :(

So far so good today for me too. Only eaten light foods with plenty of veg and less carbs.
I think its a gret idea to split the threads so that we have one to track the results and one for general talking.
Maybe we should also add in a recipes thread so that we can share recipes with each other.
Let me know and I can organise moving some threads etc.

The best thing about being part of a group is that we all know how hard it is to lose weight but we can encourage each other to try.
PNE started 2003 following Vaginal Hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair and right oophorectomy; eventually after many tests had BilateralTG surgery Nantes 2004; following this tried many other treatments including 7 day epidural, ketamin infusions to no avail; Trialed and was implanted with a Neurostimulator in 2007- Dr Van Buyten Belgium, this has enabled me to manage my pain much better.

OK, I started a weight loss club thread just for our ongoing tally of progress and wrote out the club rules in the first post. Please take a look, add yourself, and make any suggestions for changes on this thread...I designated this as our chat thread for the group. :D HM
pelvic pain started 1985 age 14 interstitial cystitis. Refused medical care from age 17, did GREAT with self care for years.
2004 PN started gradually, disabled by 2009. Underlying cause SIJD & Tarlov cysts
improved with PT & meds: neurontin, valium, nortriptyline, propanolol. (off nortriptyline & propanolol now, yay!)
Tarlov cyst surgery with Dr. Frank Feigenbaum March 20, 2012.
Results have been excellent so far; but I won't know my final functional level for a couple of years.

If anyone is interested, I have worked out a way to post a graph from SkinnyR.com here in a post. If you want to show just the weight loss, you need to have Weight Blurr enabled, then it doesn't show the actual weights just the pounds lost.

Go to the tab that says Embeddr, select Image Version, then you get some code in the box on the right which you are supposed to be able to copy and paste as an image. If I do that, what I get is this -
[img]<center><img alt="Skinnyr.com Graph" src="http://www.skinnyr.com/graph/38202.png" />
<p><a id="skinnyrGraph" href="http://www.skinnyr.com">Get your own graph at skinnyr</a></p></center>[/img]

But as you can see, this doesn't work, maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can do better.

What I have done instead is copy the text from http:// through to where it says png. Paste in the reply box here, highlight it and hit Img. You can see the result in my post in the stats thread.

I quite like this, when I weigh myself I can add it to My Records on SkinnyR and the point gets put on the graph, with the date at the bottom. So the graph only gets posted once, it just gets updated as and when.

Anyway there it is

Edited to add : I've just realised that the graph updates itself automatically here on the board every time I add a date and weight .... so I've edited this post so that it makes sense. Sorry about that.

Anyway, I still like it. (The graph, not the pound increase on the graph.)

Re: Slimming Club

I too have put on so much extra weight. My GP said I should exercise more!! :-) At work we all get weighed every Monday but it doesn't help. Still the same weight every week and I'm vegetarian. My daughter tells me I eat far too much snack food. I'm ALWAYS GOING TO start cutting down tomorrow but that tomorrow never comes. I think I just need to keep myself more occupied and get out of the kitchen. I'm 65 kilos. but should be about 58kilos. (I'm only a little over 5ft.) I don't mind reporting my weight each week. Maybe it will give me some incentive to do something about it. I'm in. Better get started today.

Catherine.
2004 PNE following vag. hysterectomy and A & P repair. 2007 TIR surgery France. severe entrapment at Alcocks canal & SS ligaments . Have my life back. 90% cured. No longer have medical appts.or physio. Some pain remains but is tolerable. 2012 Flew from Australia to the UK without pain flare. Very manageable. Almost back to normal. Now hold support group meetings at KEMH Subiaco Perth WA. Every 2nd Sat. of the month. Still pace my activities. PN doesn't dominate any more.

Wow, you all get weighed at work? Why do they want to know what you weigh? I'm not sure that I'd like it.

Snack food, I think the usual reply to this one is to not go into that section of the supermarket. I try to stay in the outside aisles and not go into the centre aisles at all. And not staying out of the kitchen is my problem as well. It is very easy to just open the fridge to see what is in there (although I know quite well already) and it goes on from there....

Current snacks here are apples, bananas (not every day though) and monkey nuts. I keep wishing for some dried fruit, and there is none in the cupboard because I deliberately did not buy any. I hope I stop wanting it soon.

But I do have a single square of dark chocolate (70%) every day with my mid-morning espresso. It is nice looking forward to it.
