Washington State Insurance with out-of-state coverage?

Hi everyone,

Question about insurance for you all.

My current insurance doesn't cover out of state providers at all. I also don't currently have claims, copays, etc. so I'm not familiar with how all of those processes would work.

Right now, I'm trying to find a women's health PT and practitioners in my state who may be able to help.

But, my case is so severe that I'm also hoping to eventually travel out of state (possibly long-term) to see more specialized PTs and / or doctors and surgeons.

My question is: How do I find a list of insurance plans which will cover out of state providers? Or does the approval depend more on the type of procedure being performed?

If a PT clinic in California accepts Aetna for example, does that mean Washington state Aetna would cover the California PT? Or would I want to somehow get California Aetna insurance once I'm in California?

Or would supplemental insurance plans be what I'd want to research?
