Hi Everyone , 50 year male i was diagnosed with PNE about six years ago and was lucky enough to have a female urologist who called the diagnosis for me after i saw maybe five different urologist .
They all had something to say but no real clear diagnosis non specific prostate infection At the time i had excellent insurance and found a wonderful pt who actually treated males . I was very relived because she helped me with the embarrassment shame and lack of basic human anatomy.
I started with biofeedback to see how bad everything was she said i was very piano string tight and could actually feel the muscle entrapped. We did internal pudendal and external piformis muscle work
i hope I'm spelling that right . I also learned how to use a internal wand and would gently massage at ten and two o clock position and eventually we were able to add in some reverse kegals .
I saw her for about a year and a half and was able to get back to life as sort of normal and could almost forget about it for a while occasionally i would flare . Then about three years ago i was hit from behind on the freeway at freeway speed and was bouncing like a ping pong ball hitting cars and the concrete freeway divider .It happens so fast you cant even get a swear word out at the same time it really seems that you are in slow motion watching from a different position.
I smashed the brake pedal down as hard as i could and held on for dear life i ended up hitting two other cars and the freeway divider and my truck went up in the air and came back down facing the wrong way . I was in shock but managed to come out with all body parts attached i hit my neck on the drivers side door and swallowed some plastic from the air bags. The rescue people came and asked me if i wanted to go to the hospital i said i think I'm ok i started walking around examining the scene
they had to close the freeway . I started to feel that burning pain in left groin and down my leg i thought i must have pulled a muscle and will be all right if i could walk it off they hauled my truck and me off . The next day i knew i was in trouble and it was not a pulled muscle but the pudendal nerve and it was bad . Crap Crap Crap i worked soooo hard to correct this problem and now it was worse i was able to see my P T again for a little while the medical insurance i had had changed and they would not take me as a patient unless i paid cash I was able to see her enough that we came up with a lot stuff i could do on my own. My md doc knew my situation and perscribed flexerill and some other meds that got me by she wanted to try some amtripamyline i was afraid about that after reading some nasty reviews . I got better by not working and reducing stress and self care . Now i have no insurance and have recently gone into a bad flare i was actually thinking of some pretty drastic surgery to relieve the pain in testicles it all on the left side i searched and found this forum Thank You sooo much for being here . I found a new P T I'm going try recomended from here Thank You

Re: PNE For second time
Hi Teddie,
Wow, that must have been incredibly scary! Since you were bounced around so much and your pain is primarily on one side, I think you might want to consider pelvic misalignment and possibly some damaged ligaments. Someone like a manual therapist or good pelvic PT who can check your alignment might be a good idea. If you do have pelvic laxity due to strained ligaments, you could check into trying prolotherapy. (With a small amount of steroid in it, insurance would probably cover it). Can you get any insurance on the Marketplace, which would be based on your income?

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
Re: PNE For second time
Hi Violet, Thank you for responding i was able able to get insurance and get to a pt who gets pudendal nerve issues .I was going to see a specialist in San Francisco but that requires a god awful car ride in traffic with a bad bottom and that does not make for a pleasant trip. I was able to see my new PT real Quickly because they just lifted the being able to see your doctor choice and no one had signed on yet and she is wonderful.Of course i flared pretty bad from the internal work and she did pirformis massage work for a good long time .I also started getting this weird muscle twitching all the way down my leg were i could put my hand against it and feel it pulsing I truly think it must be a calling for the people that i have met in pt they are very special indeed .Unfortunately i will only be able to see her once a month on the wretched insurance so i will probably try and see how bad the experiences is driving a 100 miles on a donut seat to see the other PT. I have never heard of a manual therapist maybe that is what she does in San Francisco .I think some of this is emotional trauma i just do not know how to release it .Its not as if we are all not under a incredible amount of stress right now Be Well Teddie
