Two Days Afer Surgery

Hi y'all,

Thank you for all of you good wishes. I really think it helped. The surgery with Dr. Hibner was 4 hours and I had a lot of scare tissue just before and through alcock's canal. It's funny, I've had more swelling in my face and hands from the positioning on the table than in my tush. Wasn't expecting that.

I didn't even get a chance to count back from 100, guess they didn't want me to worry. The botox is not being reccomended by the hospital. I think Dr. Hibner wants you to have it, but because insurance companies won't cover it anymore, Dr. Hibner has to say it's not reccomended. But you can still have it if you pay for it. I know that muscle spasms can be bad, so I said that I wanted it. Dr. Hibner got a big smile on his face when I said that I wanted it.

I'm doing much better than I thought that I would. I have a tolerance to pain, I guess because I've had it so long. I've had many bone surgeries because of arthritis and sometimes with those, I would scream when I moved. It's much easier to go to the bathroom than I thought. Haven't had a bowel movement yet. That should be a lot of fun.

I wasn't really having a heart attach. They had just put the leads on wrong. Thank goodness I could go through with the surgery and not have to go to the back of the waiting line. That's what I was most worried about, not my heart!!!!

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers..
Kate P.S. We bought a new house that day in Charlotte, NC near our children and grandson. We're moving when I am completely over this.

So glad things have gone ok for you so far Kate. I wish you all the best. Please keep us updated on your recovery.

So you had to pay out of pocket for the botox? Wow, how much was that?

Kate, I'm glad to hear it was not a heart attack after all! Best wishes with your recovery and move. I hope you will have lots of people to help you move. ;)

Faith,

The botox was $1600 for two vials. But it was well worth it. Before the surgery I was in so much muscle pain and I was afraid of what surgery would do to the muscles. Everything is blissfully relaxed and I am going to tell my insurance company about it.

WE SHOULD ALL TELL OUR INSURANCE COMPANIES THAT BOTOX WORKS.

So glad it all went well for you, now just take it easy and follow Dr's orders . You have to give yourself the best chance for a full recovery.
Take care Kate,
Helen.

Hello Kate,
Great to hear that early recovery is easier than anticipated - that is a blessing. Are you able to walk a bit outside, enjoying the nice PHX sun? Looking forward to your next update. How long are you staying?

PS 80 degrees in Fairfax, VA today. NC will only get better from there.
