Full Retirement Age and Private Disability Insurance

Post by jon »

Hi All,

Been a while. I'm about to hit Full Retirement Age which my private disability insurance plan seems to say means my benefits end.

Anyone here found a way to extend their benefits beyond that date?

There's a clause about the inability to perform some of their Basic Activities of Life, which I cannot do when I have a pain flare.

It's 2/3 of our income. We've done what little we can to prepare for those benefits ending.
Left testicle pain since 2008. Left sciatica 2010-2012. Failed left epididectomy, orchiectomy, botox injections, nerve blocks and internal physical therapy. Genital branch of genitofemoral and perineal branch of pudendal nerve cut. L5-S1 microdiscectomy cured sciatica. Dorsal Root Ganglion nerve stimulator failed to help and was removed. I have had 4 pudendal nerve blocks, two from Dr. Poree worked for 2 hrs. The ONLY break from pain ever.
