This meta analysis includes results of transgluteal surgery, perineal surgery, and laparscopic surgery in 810 patients who had PNE surgery. It concludes that laparscopic surgery has the highest rate of pain improvement with a 16% complication rate. I don't have access to the complete article, so I don't know what the complications are, or what the complication rates are for the other 2 approaches, or what the typical complications are. The literature search for the 19 articles used was done in April of 2023.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
