Many physical activites such as sports, pelvic surgery, etc can all contribute to PN

Low Grade Fever

Post by TracyB7777 »

It would seem I have been running a low grade fever 99.5 for the last 2 months. Each time I go to the dr, no matter which doctor comes up with the same (approx) reading. Anyone else experience this? I truly have just recently noticed and not sure if it's recent or something that has been going on for a while. Doc doesn't seem concerned but come on...it's hitting 100 here this weekend and will contine for MONTHS!! Don't really need a constant fever on top of it.

Have been dealing with burning pain since Jan 2010.
No sitting since April 2010.
Seen the following dr's: DO, GYN, Dermatologist, Accupuncturist,
URO GYN (his RN is the one who suggested the pain could be PN), Neurologist
Had ECG and MRI both inconclusive, only the SSEP said Pudendal reaction was abnormal and they lost that test result.
Saw Dr. Castellanos April 6, 2011. Next steps, MRI and botox. Having PT while waiting.-Botox denied, appealing to Insurance company now. :(

That's wierd. Don't like the sound of it. Funny that the docs aren't concerned. Isn't a constant low grade fever an early sign of leukemia or something?
Athlete until pain started in 2001. Diagnosed with PN in Nov. 2010. Probable cause: 3 difficult labors, 5 pelvic surgeries for endometriosis, and undiagnosed hip injuries. 60% better after 3 rounds of shockwave therapy in Cornwall, Ontario (Dec - Feb/12). 99% better after bilateral hip scopes for FAI and labral tears (April and July/12). Pelvic pain life coach Lorraine Faendrich helped me overcome the mind/body connection to chronic pain: http://www.radiantlifedesign.com

Oh WOW!! Hadn't even had that thought yet  Guess I'm doing some research this weekend. I have another appt with my primary Friday so we've added that to my discussion list. I figure there must be some underlying something going on. I think part of it is that he just hasn't connected all the dots...yet. I chatted with his wife (office asst, "nurse", etc) and told her it was reading the same at my other docs office so we made a note for Friday's discussion. (My appt yesterday was for a B-12 shot).

Could be due to lots of things, don't worry unduly. But do get it investigated.

I have had a low grade fever for ages, we could not work out why and had given up worrying about it - turns out that it is because of diverticulitis. I hadn't been feeling much pain from it at that point because of the tramadol.

About 15 years ago I had a low grade fever for about a year. It turned to be a reaction to decaf, which at the time I drank every day. through experimentation I found that regular coffee doesn't set it off, only the decaf. It's some kind of autoimmune reaction...
