Hi Ezzl,

I ususally found the botox injections to take about 4 weeks to settle down. Some botox shots didn't help me much at all and some did wonders. I eventually found that I managed to get a bit better painwise when I left everything alone to heal on it's own. I decided to give up on further treatments and let it all settle by itself. Did you have any cortisone along with the Botox? I was always in a much higher level of pain after cortisone and botox for about 4 weeks.

It's entirely your choice whether you continue to keep trying Botox or not, but for me I felt better after I decided to leave everything alone. No internal work, only external physiotherapy. I'm still sore most days but the vaginal internal burning only needs some lignocaine now and again. You can buy this OTC ( over the counter) at any pharmacy. 5% is better. it may sting at first but it helps after a while. Try and smear some on to a small size dilator and gently massage it into the vaginal tissue. Lie down and breathe into your stomach and not your chest. It helps relax the pelvic floor. Try filling a condom or a finger from a rubber glove with water, freeze it and insert it into the vagina. It also helps to soothe the pain.

Don't be scared Erin, buy some Silk lubricant from Coles if you feel the vaginal tissue too dry. A tiny bit goes a long way. I mix the lignocaine with this whenever I'm too dry. We've all been through these really intense high pain levels following any procedure but it will settle in a few weeks. Are you still working full time or have you managed to find something P/T?

i know it's a very stressful time for you after being in hospital. I can feel your pain. Try and relax a bit more and remember to breathe deep into your tummy when you're lying down.
