Good day
My wife (30) has been diagnosed with PN after struggling with the symptoms for over a year. After seeing almost 20 specialists over the last year we found a Neurosurgeon who is willing to help us, but unfortunately he has never handled a PN case.
I need help in getting contact details of doctors who work in SOUTH AFRICA and have had PN cases.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards
Daniel

Welcome Daniel,
So sorry to hear about your wife's suffering and can sympathize and empathize as a PN with an entrapment I had surgery on in May. The recovery is very slow as well, but enough about me. I was hoping one of the others would give you guidance as I am new to this and in North America USA where we have a list of doctors but none for South Africa but maybe they will chime in with an idea. I checked the other websites and saw some info from other places but still not your area so all I can suggest is visiting each site and find someone to ask (there maybe a contact us or just ask one of the doctors if they can connect you, there seem to be conferences that are international so again maybe someone can point you in the right direction):
www.pudendal.com
This HOPE forum does have a good deal of info that should help you and your wife through this but I just don't know exactly how to get you a doctor. Best of luck
Janet

I had hoped the International Pelvic Pain Society would be a good resource, but it doesn't look like there's any listed providers near you. Here's the link:
http://www.pelvicpain.org/providers/find_provider.aspx
Are there pelvic floor physical therapists in your area? They are capable of doing a thorough evaluation and can help direct you to resources.
Best of luck to you and your wife.

Daniel, I've just sent an e-mail to an old friend who knew someone in South Africa with PNE to see if she can find out any info on docs there. If I hear back I will let you know.

Hi Violet
Thank you so much for the response. It helps to know that we are not alone in this and other people have walked the path before us. I will be waiting on your post.
All the best.

Hi Lauren
Thank you for the post. We have found a physical therapist that treated similar cases in the past. They are treating her for PN, but after 8 weeks no improvement in any of her symptoms.
Will keep on looking.
Thanks

Hi Daniel,
I just heard back from my friend and sorry to say, her friend in South Africa never found a PN doc in SA and eventually traveled out of the country for surgery.
I'm sorry to hear PT is not helping. What type of therapy are they doing? There are some things PT's do that can make a person with PN worse so hopefully the therapist is aware of these things.
