Could hip/labral tears mask pudendal/bottoch pain?
Could hip/labral tears mask pudendal/bottoch pain?
Hi - has anyone got any advice re labral tears. My Potter MRI came back showing only minimal problems regarding Pudendal problems. Basically it said I have large varices in Alcock canal and near Dorsal nerve and My doc in the UK didn't think this meant much. However, the scan did show up features of femoroactebular impingement noted bilaterally with insufficent offset at the neck head junction, proliferative bone formation and splits at the base of the postress of the superior labra, bilaterally and also chronic labral tears. Not sure what this means? Was just reading around this site and others and clear that sometimes this could be the main problem. I have bottock pain, started on the right but now bilateral, and also tingling in Perineum/scrotum and some penile pain on ejaculation.

I have right buttock pain and torn right hip labrum. For sure they're related.
Athlete until pain started in 2001. Diagnosed with PN in Nov. 2010. Probable cause: 3 difficult labors, 5 pelvic surgeries for endometriosis, and undiagnosed hip injuries. 60% better after 3 rounds of shockwave therapy in Cornwall, Ontario (Dec - Feb/12). 99% better after bilateral hip scopes for FAI and labral tears (April and July/12).
