Need opinions

Post by Bobby »

So it's been about 3 and a half weeks since I was in constant pain after spending a month drinking and smoking reefer and my symptoms have reduced to almost constant annoying feeling of an object in my urethra, pelvic floor tightness, and sometimes having extreme sensitivity from my scrotum to the tip of my penis. I can usually ejaculate without pain, use the restroom and sit (as long as I am not putting pressure on my scrotum). I sit all day at work on a donut cushion and usually am alright. Only thing I need to watch it my diet, no spicy foods, alcohol, weed or smoke of any kind, and some other things. I feel pretty good on the weekends, when I don't work so that's alright but always feel a hint of discomfort in my penis/urethra and pelvic floor tightness. I've never had pain anywhere else (except small pain down my legs to my feet when I have a massive flare up) so assuming I have nerve damage, most likely in my scrotum area through the canal can it be removed or killed or something. I mean the nerve blocks with the chance that it even works will only bring temporary relief can more be done, for insance removing the part of the nerve that's damaged and if it were removed or deadened will it cause problems with bowel movements and ejaculation? I am pretty much willing to do whatever it takes. I believe my pain to be quite minimal, with the exception of the occasional flare up which is crippling. So my questions are can the damaged part of the nerve be removed or killed and if it is are there likely going to be problems with bowel and sexual function?

Thanks!

If I was you I would take a couple of weeks of from work and see if rest from sitting cures you. Had I done that I'm sure I would be ok now.

Have you been checked for bacterial prostatitis?
2002 PN pain started following a fall on a wet marble floor
2004 Headache in the pelvis clinic. Diagnosed with PNE by Drs. Jerome Weiss, Stephen Mann, and Rodney Anderson
2004-2007 PT, Botox, diagnosed with PNE by Dr. Sheldon Jordan
2010 MRN and 3T MRI showing PNE. Diagnosed with PNE by Dr. Aaron Filler. 2 failed PNE surgeries.
2011-2012 Horrific PN pain.
2013 Experimented with various Mind-body modalities
3/2014 Significantly better
11/2014 Cured. No pain whatsoever since

@ezer - I have taken everything in the world for prostatitis, they originally diagnosed me with it 5 years ago and indiscriminately prescribed me all kinds of things for it, with no effect. I suppose I will just have to wait for the nerve block to know if it's PN for sure.

@reckless - I went on medical leave about 3 and a half weeks ago for about 2 weeks did nothing but lay down and relax, my symptoms greatly reduced since then but I feel like I can only get so much relief, basically I believe there's permanent nerve damage because I cap out on relief. It's not healing it's just getting to a certain point and stopping there.

I just need a little support... I am quickly losing faith in ever getting better.

Also does insurance ever cover the cost of surgery or any of it if diagnosed by dr. Jordan and how would they find where the nerve is damaged or potentially entrapped?

Sick of living in fear of an extremely painful flare up and constant discomfort... :(
