Post block Ischial Tuberosity pain - curious

Hi there,
Just curious how many people have incured an increase in ischial tuberosity (more medial) pain after their blocks. I have more pain now than I did pre-2nd block. Although I did have a 3 week stint when all the various pain was reduced. But now it's all back, and once it's gone, and then comes back it's almost harder to deal with. I'm getting burning into my feet too, I'm so sick of this burning feeling.

Faith has shared her info with me before, but I'm curious how many others have this happen to them?
I have stinging and burning right under my butt cheeks, more medial to my body - it's pretty constant. Sitting or standing, it doesn't matter.

If I thought a 3rd block would help, I would do it, but it's anyone's guess as to whether it will, my doctor doesn't really know much at all. (same old)

thanks... Debbie

Hi Deb,
Sorry about your increased pain. I never had ischial tuberosity pain until my second round of PN blocks. The sit bone pain developed after about 30 minutes of the injections. It'll be 3 years this coming July.
Since you're going to NY next month, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to put "conservative treatments" aside for now.

I have this too, but it's different from the ischial tuberosity pain.
Is the burning in your feet on the bottoms only? Is it the whole foot?
Hugs,
Karyn

Karyn,
wow you are back and typing away, you go girl! I knew you would answer this, because I know you have ish tube pain too. You say "I have this too" , meaning the stinging? So we must be talking about two different areas of the body. I don't know what else to call it, just the ischial tuberosity area or plane? Yes, I think I will hold off on any more blocks. You know when the pain is really bad, then I'm so tempted to go for the block again...... but.....

The foot pain, (started in June 2011) which comes and goes, started out being top of foot, sort of down to my middle two toes. It wasn't too bad, sort of numby, tingly. Now it's progressed to either bottom of foot, more in the heel I would say, and sometimes if feels like the whole foot. Pain ranges from hot like holding a match, burning, to sort of cold and numb. I just want to take off my shoes right away when it happens, and I hate walking on it when it's like that. Heat feels better on the foot, and ice everywhere else!!

Karyn, what does Conway say about the ischial tuberosity or the other under the butt cheek pain you have, 3 yrs is a long time. And does he think the blocks could cause this?
I wonder if anything will show up on my Potter MRI for that area, I will mention it when I go. And good news of the day, my insurance company did approve the MRI! My PT is going talking to a new pain doc for me, I think I need a change in that department too.

take care,
Debbie
