25% off medical costs

I just found this out and have done it twice in the last few months so it may work for you as well.

First, I let my hospital send a bill to me 3 times without paying it.
Then, I got a letter from a collection agency asking for the amount.
Next, I called the collection agency and gave them a sob story about becoming disabled and that I was waiting for the appeal to go through with the insurance company so they would pay the bill. I shared that they have 180 days to pay me and that the collection agency was giving me a week to pay or set up a payment plan.

I asked for a suppervisor and repeated the same story in incredible detail about being new to disability and not knowing how to pay them when ins. companies have more time to give us the money for our appeals.

THEY THEN OFFERED 25% OFF MY TOTAL BILL if I payed it the week that I received the collection agencies notice. I payed it off on the spot.

I then got another bill from a collection agency and called and told them my sob story in great detail. They said they could not help so I asked for a supervisor. I was told the supervisor could not help me. I asked to speak to them anyway.

After they said there was nothing they could do I told them I got 25% off the month before and they AGAIN gave me 25% off if I payed in full. I payed on the spot.

The ins. company should come through with the second appeal soon, but if they don't at least I'm paying 25% less on each bill.

Hope that helps and works for some of you.

Good luck
