Tommorrow, April 17th at 12pm EST Dr. Kirk Andrew will be on The Pelvic Messenger talking about his alternative treatment for PN and pelvic pain using extracorporeal shock wave therapy and other techniques. IF you can't listen tomorrow you the show will be recorded and can be listened to here (past shows can also be found here)http://www.blogtalkradio.com/pelvicmessenger There's been a lot of talk about ESWT lately so I thought this might be of interest to people.

Thanks faith,
I am just catching up with blogtalk radio again. Listened to Dr's Hesselink and Dellon, both excellent in very different ways. Still have a couple to go and look forward to tomorrows show. Elizabeth and Jessica are doing a phenomenal job.
Take care,
Helen

This was a really good interview and is definitely worth listening to for anyone who wants to understand Dr. A's approach to healing pudendal neuralgia.

Faith, do you know who set up the interview? Did you have anything to do with it? :D

No, The Pelvic Messenger asked suggestions for guests on a Facebook forum and a few of us suggested Dr. Andrew as we have heard a lot about the success of his treatment on you and "mystoryhurts" wife. I enjoyed it as well. Thanks for sharing your experience with him so the pelvic community can be informed about a variety of different options to treat PN!

Hey everyone--- thank you for the awesome compliments on the Pelvic Messenger. I am honored and privileged to be a host.

If ANYONE can think of a topic or health care provider they would like to hear more about, please email me directly at fightpne@yahoo.com

We are working hard to bridge the gap between the clinicians and the patient population so that ALL can be set free from the throes of this horrible disease.

You did a great job :) .
It would be wonderful if Dr Andrew would allow his protocol to be shared and taught to other chiro's who may be interested. He did indicated to one caller :) that this could be a possibility. I hope it can happen.
I am amazed at how many great, highly esteemed people you have managed to get for the show. I do think though, that if they have an keen interest in pelvic pain and problems, which is something many medics wouldn't even try to tackle, as it's such a difficult, complicated area, it shows such compassion and humanitarianism. I guess they are just 'that kind of people'. Thank goodness for them.

Hey Lernica, did you have your hip surgery yet? If so, how are you doing?

I desperately want to visit Dr Andrew, but my family situation at the moment precludes it. I was the caller that talked to Dr Andrew about sharing his protocol with my chiropractor. She is a great person, and I know she wants to help me, but I'm not sure she has time to devote to it. I see her tomorrow and plan to discuss my plans with her. If she doesn't think she can help me as thoroughly as Dr Andrew, I'm going to have to find a way to see him.

Hey Griff,

Yes I recognized you on the podcast! Nice to hear your voice!

Hip surgery went well but the recovery is rough. Surgeon discovered a "rare" condition in my hip called synovial chrondomatosis, which is basically hundreds of calcium deposits floating around in my hip joint. He flushed them all out with 9 litres of saline solution. He said no wonder my hip was in so much pain; it is like having sand in your bicycle gears. He also repaired my FAI (bone spur) and torn labrum. I was sent home the same day, which is kind of a technological medical miracle in and of itself.

My hip feels as bad now (6 days post-op) as it did before surgery but I understand that recovery takes a long time. Plus my other hip is also killing me, and so I have to start thinking about operating on that one, too. And the sore hips (and associated spasming obturator internus muscles) still make it hurt to sit, even though my PN is gone! So I don't feel much further ahead.

It's a struggle to stay positive amidst all this, but I keep telling myself that with every intervention I make, I'm getting closer to full recovery. I just wish it wasn't taking so long. Stay positive! Stay positive! Stay positive!

I'm so glad he found the problem and was able to fix it. Will the calcium deposits return? God I hope not!

Yes, recovery sucks! I hope you have help and can take it easy. And you are right to "STAY POSITIVE" because the alternative feels yucky and doesn't help.

I know for me, I walked a fine line with moving around and resting. If I didn't move I felt bad, and if I moved around too much I felt worse. I eventually found a happy medium, but finding it was a challenge.

I'm so looking forward to your post in a couple of months (or maybe 6 ;) ) about how well you are doing. Hang in there Girl!!!!!!!!!!

So much easier said etc. . . BUT you know we are sending our most positive thoughts your way. It's got to be tough, but then so are you! :)
