I am sorry to hear you are feeling worse while trying to figure out what is wrong and get treament. Unfortunately I cannot answer your question as it has been years since I tried sex and now post surgery I am still waiting to see how much better I will get before trying that. I can say I do not feel the nerve blocks had adverse effects but Ii know others experienced pain flares up to I think a few weeks after the nerve block. Mine we just diagnostic relieving pain for a couple hours and helped confirm my left side was entrapped. I hope someone can answer your question about sex before and aftera nerve block. I just did not want you think we are ignoring you.

I have chronic bunion pain surgery at age 21. TG gave me back enough sitting to keep my job & join in some social activities. I wish the best to everyone! 2019 luck with orthotics from pedorthist & great PT allowing me to get off oxycodone.

Typically the anesthetic from the nerve block should wear off within 24 hours and you shouldn't have any more problems with sex than you did before the nerve block. Some people have a temporary flare-up for several weeks after a nerve block but usually that wears off in a few weeks. We have heard several reports of patients who felt they got permanently worse from a nerve block but this is unusual. Nerve blocks help some people improve but they don't help everyone. We don't hear of very many nerve block success stories on the forum, unfortunately. Hope this answers your question.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

I would look through the symptoms on the home page here and check off any that are relevant to you. It doesn't need to be the full list it may only be one or two symptoms that match. That could be an indication of a pudendal neuralgia. If you can get to see specialised PT they may know someone closer to you who can help. I'm sure it would help even if you were to go a few times it would at least give an indication if pelvic floor muscles are involved as this can often be an easier problem to treat, and there is usually a good outcome.
In the mean time have you got any medication in place? if your issues are typicaly nerve related, burning , itching, numbness, shooting pain. (see home page again) get a prescription for medication that could help. Anti depressants and anti convulsants are a usual combination. There is a lot of medication information here

I wonder if you would be able to find out where this sore spot is if you took a look at pelvic diagrams and video's? I have a constantly sore spot which I now know is where all of my pelvic problems stem from. Plus the spot you mention does seem higher up and the pain you experience is always below this point? If so, as your pain is distal to that spot, it could relate to nerve pain as that is the way nerve pain works.
If you want to try and research this yourself, although it is often really difficult, take a look at the anatomy page within the home pages. there is an excellent interactive 'atlas of the female pelvis' https://www1.columbia.edu/sec/itc/hs/me ... index.html
I was wondering too, if a sacroiliac belt would help you? Because your problems started after childbirth your ligaments may still be lax. I know this happened to a friend of mine, although her third child. The belt along side some physiotherapy worked for her. I must admit that I don't think she had any nerve pathology more a pelvic ache.
Would you say that the spot is more in the mid section of your pelvis, in cross-section? or more towards the back or sides? If slightly towards the back the sacrotuberous and sacrospinous ligaments are worth taking a look at. I'm probably way off the mark with all of this but it is unusual for people to have a defined point of pain (as well as the rest of course) that responds to pressure. I know that when I discovered where mine was (the piriformis muscle) it was a total revelation and everything made such sense after that.
I suppose this spot could be a muscle trigger point either I guess , however I would have thought that 8 inches up wouldn't be the pelvic floor??
Hope |I haven't confused the situation further but if you could discover what/where this spot is it may be as much of a eureka moment as it was for me.
Take care,
Helen

I will consider the belt I've never heard of it b4 ? My pt mentioned ligaments 2 me one time. The deep pain is directly in spot & it is very deep but if I kegal I feel it in same spot this also moves around a bit sometimes in front others in back and sometimes directly everywhere in area. It may not b pelvic floor but since I feel it with kegals I assume its at very end if it the only pain I have below the deep pain is genital & its killer though

Eva, the ischial spine is high up in the vagina and sort of to the side. That is where the pudendal nerve runs. If that is where your deep pain is, it could be the pudendal nerve. That was my worst area of pain. I also had that constant urge to pee. Even if you can't commute to regular PT from a PT who specializes in PN -- maybe you could at least get a one time evaluation for a better diagnosis.
