The leading scientific journal "Nature" had a brief article about a researcher who has developed a magnesium compound that crosses the blood-brain barrier that might help with sleep, depression, anxiety, memory and pain. It is easy to understand why this compound might help with pain as it binds to one of the NMDA receptors which is a receptor that Ketamine binds to. This compound is Magnesium Threonate and this company has made it available to other retailers. You can purchase it on Amazon. I purchased some today and will give it a try. Worse thing I loose is $24.95.

Re: Magnesium Threonate - May help with Pain, sleep and mood
Think I'll stay away from Magnesium Threonate.
Right testicle pain started ~2005
Stanford Pain clinic (~2007).
Dr Weiss diagnosed PNE; said I needed to go to Hibner for surgery (2010'ish). Sorry, no surgery for me.
Neuro-stim (~2012) caused horrible back pain - removed; pain pump 13 or early 14.
Pump brings pain level down by ~ 50%; Prialt and fentanyly in pain pump
Since going on disability much easier to control pain levels with bedrest - Carmichael throne helps too.
Since fusion at L2/L3 pain meds decreased by 50% ! Yesss!

Any update NYT?
Started with vulva itching 2/11. Diagnosed as vulvodynia and then PN in 01/12. Progressed to sitting pain and constant burning. Received 4 nerve blocks with only temporary relief, did year of pelvic PT before being diagnosed with bilateral FAI and hip labral tears 7/12. Did orthopedic PT 1.5 years. 3/13 Arthroscopic hip surgery at HSS with Dr. Kelly. Take cymbalta and lyrica daily. About 97% better than worst point thanks to combo of surgery and meds. Yay!
