Hi Shannon,
I realize you've had Cauda Equina ruled out (?). Has Tarlov Cyst Disease been ruled out, as well?

Kind regards,
Karyn

With the severe back problems have they done an MRI? Have they done any nerve blocks for just the back?

Shannon I hope your nerve blocks were successful. Nerve blocks never helped my PGAD much even though I had nerve entrapment but hopefully yours will help.

hi everyone, yes i have had several mri done...no cauda equine..no compression of the spine...they are not sure why i have sciatic like symptoms going along with my pudendal nerve issues....ok i am having an awful flare of symptoms this is the worst i have been since this all started 6 months ago...im praying this will settle down..i couldn't stand to go back to where i was then....have others had flare ups following nerve blocks?

Shannon,
With absence of spinal pathology; it may be possible your symptoms are coming from the sacral nerve roots, themselves. Has Tarlov Cyst Disease been ruled out? Another possibility is pelvic nerve entrapments.
I understand you've had MRI's, but have you had a pelvic MRN?

Best regards,
Karyn

hi karyn, the dr said i might have tarlovs disease but he also said there is nothing that can be done about it so don't worry about it..these are his words..i have had every diagnostic test done known to man i believe...they now think i have pudendal neuropathies, piriformis syndrome, and possibly sacral ileac joint disfunction...

:o  :o

Shannon,
Of course there's something you can do about it. IF you have Tarlov Cysts, they'll show up on a standard, pelvic MRI. All of the symptoms you've listed are consistent with consistent with Tarlov Cyst Disease. Again, easy enough to confirm or rule out with imaging.
I just had surgery this past April for TCD.

Shannon, I had piriformis syndrome with sciatic-type pain and sacroiliac joint dysfunction along with PGAD and PNE. Much of this stemmed from the fact that my ligaments were strained from exercise. Do you have any idea what precipitated your symptoms? Any accidents, exercise, pelvic medical procedures?
