Dear User,
my name is Claudi and I read in your forum for a few weeks.
Some facts about me: After a uterine curettage in November 2014, a blood infection (sepsis) developed. Therefore, a hysterectomy with ovarian and appendectomy was performed in December then. I noticed immediately after the operation, a foreign body sensation in the anus. I also learned after mobilization, not being able to sit without pain. The doctors said that are side effects of this major operation. After this surgery was also formed in my stomach still a hematoma that was infected.

Since my discomfort, pain in the perineum and this terrible pressure in the anus is not improved with respect to the sitting, I soon realized that something was wrong. Since I am a nurse, I was quite familiar with the term Pudendusneuralgie and the neurologist confirmed my suspicions, but can not help me and ordered me 2x 75 mg Lyrika, which does not improve. Gynecologist and family doctor does not know what is.

What do you all mean, can the nerf heal by itself??
Who now do I contact? Dr. Possover, Dr. Aszman or Dr. Maria Petro in Günzburg ??
Maybe I could still be helped, because I've got a relatively early diagnosis.
The MRI images (3 Tesla) are normal, otherwise I have not arranged for further investigations.
The agonizing for me is this constant pressure in the perineum and anus, as it is crazy !!! : Cry:

Please help me, to whom do I contact now and if there is hope?!?
I am glad to have found your forum and hope to hear from you

Excuse for my bad English.

Many Greetings from Germany
Claudia

Hi Claudia,

Sorry to hear about your problems since surgery. I don't know which of those doctors would be best for you. There are several forum members who had surgery from Dr. Aszmann so you could do a search on posts about him. Just type his name in the search bar in the upper right. People on the German section of this forum might be able to answer your question about the European doctors. Have you tried physical therapy yet?

Hi Violet,

Thank you for your reply and the information. I have already got a physical therapy, but improvement couldn’t be achieved. After physical therapy it was always bad to me. At the moment I am thinking for a treatment at an Osteopath.

Best regards and thanks for your help
Claudia

Good luck, Claudia. PT made things worse for me too so I understand.

Claudia, especially in Germany, people with PN-Problems do not need just any PT but specialized PT. There are so many PTs out there, that have never heard of the pudendal-nerver ever. So please be aware to choose someone with the skills needed here. My osteopath is a PT as well and she is trained in pelvic pain/pelvic floor issues, therefore she can help me. So do not give up PT to fast, if you were not treated by a specialist.... Just my two cents...
Take care!
