Hi,
I've read time and time again that sitting on a toilet sit can relieve the pain of PN & PNE.
I don't really spend much time on the toilet seat

So my question is: how long does it take before pain relief?

Bob, I'm not 100% sure what the answer is to your question because the toilet seat was not pain relieving to me that I recall, but I had pain in all positions and nothing really relieved it other than narcotics taking some of the edge off of the pain. My understanding is that if you experience relief sitting on the toilet seat, it is associated with there not being pressure on the genital area.

Bob,
Sitting on a toilet seat isn't meant to be a type of therapy that gradually relieves you of pudendal pain. What they're talking about is it's an indicator of fitting a diagnosis of pudendal pain if you get immediate relief of pain when sitting on a toilet seat, because most seating presses on your pudendal nerve, but a toilet seat doesn't press on the pudendal nerve. Hope this helps.
