Hi Everyone,
i have a quick question,
I use laxatives for controlling the constipation from my medications.
I try to switch it up at times, as I feel the body can get used to a particular laxative, etc.
Last night I used a combo of "Senokot Extra " ( 1 pill) and a regular dose Senokot (store brand). The latter product was expired by just 2 months, as I noticed this morning.. I would think that after 2 months the product would not lose much of it's effectiveness.
From what I read, the dates are used by the stores for regulating and rotating out the products. etc. This was a pill.
Do you folks agree?
Thanks in advance.
Kathy
PS .. If a product is liquid then I understand it would expire faster..however,
expiration dates
Re: expiration dates
Right...I heard the same thing on a news special -- that liquid medications are more likely to lose their shelf life than pills. My understanding is that even though it might be ever so slightly less effective, you still may get some benefit. Your pharmacist should be able to tell you though.
