Former Bicyclist - In lots of pain. :(

Hi, everyone. I'm Gina and I'm a former bicyclist from Indianapolis, IN. Obviously, the reason I say "former" is because of my present condition: the dreaded Pudendal nerve. Being diagnosed with this awful condition has altered my life for the worst. It can't exercise properly, I'm barely mobile, I'm in a tremendous amount of pain and I've gained a whole lot of weight from my lack of exercise. Was it the bicycling that cause this? Perhaps it was. My doctor seems to think it was. Otherwise, I'm not really sure. All I know is that I'm trying to make the best of things and stay positive.

When I stumbled on this forum, a bittersweet sense of happiness and empathy passed over me. As happy as I am to see others in the same boat, I'm SAD to see others this way too. Anyway, I'm hoping that together we can help educate the general public on this condition. Take care, everyone! Stay strong!!!

Welcome to the forum.

I think your best bet would be to have a scan done which can asses if you have an entrapped nerve. There are 2 options either the MRN or the 3T scan with Dr Hollis Potter. The 3T with Dr Potter in New York seems to be more popular and it is also covered by insurance. You will find more information about this in the MRI section of the forum.

Once you have information from the scans you can plan your next step. Here is a good thread to read.

That is what I would advise anyway.

Hi Gina,

I'm sorry you have joined the club, but maybe now there is some hope for you to find help. How long have you had the pain, and what have you tried so far?

Welcome Gina! :D
First and foremost - Your avatar is awesome! Regardless of the post subject matter, it makes me smile every time I see it! So, a big thanks for choosing such a freakin' adorable avatar!!!
OK, so ... it's very possible you injured yourself from bicycling. Who made the PN diagnosis? Which doctors are you seeing? How long have you been having symptoms?
Glad you're here and wishing you less pain!
Warm regards,
Karyn

Hi Gina,
Just wanted to say that this forum will offer you a place for information, questions, and most of all support. I was feeling so alone until I found everyone here. I too try to stay positive and make the best of what I have been dealt. I do get down in the dumps sometimes, but I think that is ok. We are human and we have all kinds of emotions, but staying positive helps get thru this.

Wishing you well,
Gracie
