It is almost 6.5 years with pne. After 3 nerve decompressions surgeries, I still have, in the back of my mind some hope it may all get better one day. I am more afraid of the sciatic becoming chronic if it isn't already. I have had 3 steroid injections without good results. Dr. Chambi said the sciatic nerve was decompressed from against the pelvic bone and that the nerve was dented.
What confuses me is, should I continue to wait for the sciatic nerve to heal or should I start therapy for sciatic . If all of the nerves would flare , pfcn, pudendal, gluteal and sciatic which were decompressed. I also had tg surgery with Dr.Antalok previous to Dr. Chambi. You following me here?. Would therapy be good or not? I can always google the exercises for sciatic.Such a confusing affliction this is.
Surgery Jan.05 2011 TG with Dr Antalok. Dr.Chambi May of 2012 showed injury from a fall on back, 11 years ago. My piriformis muscle caused a large amount of fibrosis .My sciatic nerve was growing through the piriformis muscle which caused a bifid p.muscle. . Dr Chambi decompressed the sciatic, pudendal, pfcn ,and peroneal nerves. I hope to have a nuerostimulator put in to help with the sciatic pain that never goes away. Most days are better with the pudendal if I do not sit at all.
What are Dr. Chambi's recommendation for PT? If he says "ok" then any excellent PT's for you to work with. For me, finding the right PT made all the difference. The wrong PT can make your life worse and you would be better have not going, in my humble opinion.

Dear Ellie,
I'm sorry you're still having such a tough time. NYT asked a good question:

I really don't know what type of PT would be beneficial for the nerves you have affected. I remember you were considering a SCS or pain pump at one time.
Is that something you're still looking into?
With love and hugs,
